I have been observing the site for quite sometime now. I observed intellectual conversations amongst like minded people and honestly, I became envious. Reading the heated debates in the forums excited me. I knew then, this is where I needed to be. I need a challenge. I need to be criticized. I just turned 19, so I'm fairly young. And I could definitely learn a lot from the older occultists here on this network. Observing the mature minds here, showed me that my intellect is rather undeveloped. I feel as though I have a great mind, but compared to some of the brilliant heads here, I'm merely a child.

Oh don't be so hard on your brain. Perhaps, it's not that small. XD

Well, if nothing else humility provides good cover from predators :)

I look forward to hearing what you have to say.

No mention of JK is always a fail.

"observing" + "fairly young" + "needs a challenge" is nevertheless a WIN. You might be the best thing to shore up in 180 days.

Keep rollin'

Yeah, kinda like that God dude. Hangin' around in the bushes peepin, and just waiting to jump on the homo-witchcraftery with some burnem-at-the-steaks. Preferably ribeyes. Medium rare, thank you. And a side of bacon never hurt anyone.

I uphold my humility. It's essential that I not fall prey to self-deceit.
I will thoroughly enjoy being here. Thank you all for the kind words and warm welcomes.
I will especially enjoy and utilize The Mendes Library. It's an amazing resource. I look forward to using its contents to compose essays of my own.

My self esteem is intact. Being humble enables me to maintain a center of honesty within myself. I examine myself constantly. I know my strengths as well as my weaknesses. My pride is not so great that I feel the need to turn a blind eye to my faults. By acknowledging the lesser Aspects of myself constantly I have found that that is how I progress. I can't become greater if I can't admit I'm at a state of mediocracy. This may not be your way, but this is my way. As time progresses, as I increase, my methods may change. But until then. Here I stand humble and

Humility gets a bit of a bad rap, I think. I see it like this..

If you got 'it', it speaks for itself. Those that feel the need to tell others how great they are generally do so out of some need to be acknowledged, that were they to actually have the 'thing' they wish to be acknowledged for, would come naturally without begging for it.

You dig?

It's like the dude in the oversized truck with the tiny penis.

This isn't to say downplaying yourself (which is really just fishing for affirmation, the same process in reverse) is admirable or anything;I think Schopenhauer said it best:
"To the mediocre man humility is mere honesty, to the exceptional man, it is hypocrisy."

For the ladies...not even gonna try and lie on this one.

I'll also jump in on the whole "humility" thing, echoing Dan to a degree. In one sense, "Pride" and "Humility" can be interchangeable, although they are rarely seen that way. By this measure, both would be the ability to give a (reasonably) accurate assessment of oneself. To avoid confusion, I remain very attached to the simple term "integrity" and I think of it like a metallurgist might. Can this structure submit to heat and pressure while remaining itself?

P.S. Give the damn girl a break. If only on the basis that she didn't ask for one, not remotely.

Greetings. After watching several YouTube videos from two different people and doing some independent research, I decided that SIN was a place I would like to investigate further. I am looking for like minded people that may not necessarily believe the way I do, but rather discuss different topics in a mature fashion without resorting to childish acts. I am looking forward to reading others opinions and responding accordingly as well as people responding to what I have to say. Just from what I have read so far, the debates are heated and the casual conversations are just what I have been looking for the past year or so.

Honestly I can say that I'm not looking to avoid conflict. I enjoy opposition. And I applaud those that are capable of challenging and questioning my ideas. I find it to be very stimulating...Borderline erotic. ;-)

And to properly answer your question FS, yes I am one of those monsters. However, my fangs and my horns are still developing. I'm not yet the beast I aim to be. As I eliminate my weaker elements I will become the creature that dwells within.
The humility is just the shell protecting the developing organism inside. In time, I'll shed it. It will no longer be of any good use.

And these are very wise words...
