Just Shut The Fuck Up, and Do Something (Great book for anyone at any stage).
Temple of the Vampire Bibles (Nice for a laugh and pointers of what not to do).

Both the above links are from the library link at the top of this page. There are also plenty of other great books in the library link as for knowledge about the world you might have to narrow the field or just grab a huge stack of National Geographic. nationalgeographic

From my side, I read a lot of Carroll and Hine. (Liber Null and the Psychonaut, Liber KKK, Liber MMM)
Also, there are other places to search out online but some you have to really dig at. I agree with Nith here.. it really depends on where you want to go with all of it. I come from more of a Chaotic background so a lot of my suggestions would be from a Chaote area of library.
I also suggest taking a look at the IOT (if you are looking at just sitting around a reading up on a lot of different things). It was at least intriguing to me and got me into a lot of different practices that strengthened my mental capabilities.
The Mendes Library is a great place to get stuff and I like to frequently visit there just to see what's there.

Machiavelli - The Prince
sun tzu- The Art of War
Jeff Smith Luedke-You're Stupid: How to Argue Effectively
Jeff Smith Luedke- The Absurdity of Philosophy
William Blake- The Marriage of Heaven and Hell
William Blake- Tyger Tyger
John Milton- Paradise Lost
Balthasar Gracian- The Art of Worldly Wisdom
Nietzsche- Genealogy of Morality
Nietzsche- Thus Spake Zarathustra
Dan Dread- http://autodiabolic.wordpress.com/
Jason King- Post Modern Satanism
LaVey- The Satanic Bible (I wonder how many people thought no shit sherlock...)
The above reading list combines poetry, philosophy, cultural theory and war with the intent of building a meaningful representation of the adversarial nature of the world and one's place in it.
These two are on the top of my read and re-read list.
miyamoto musashi- The book of the Five Rings
sun tzu- The Art of War
I find I can't recommend one without the other as Musashi adds the file detail to the statements of Sun Tzu. Reading order I would say is The Art of War and then The book of five rings.
I found the best way for me to read The Book of Five Rings was first off cover to cover, then open a random page and read/ study one concept then close the book and think/ meditate on that idea and it's applications.
