I am a Satanist because of the opportunity provided to me by the Church of Satan, my freedom of religion in the U.S.A. and the unique efforts of Anton Szandor LaVey. I could be considered a 'Laveyan Satanist' in accordance with the general writings of Anton LaVey. I am very glad to have this opportunity to actually meet other people of like minds as I have practiced Satanism on my own for many years now. I have not gone and joined the CoS as of yet because I figure that they don't want me to make a great sacrifice to them as much as read the books and essays (that I bought with money and I own or have access to) and do my best to live by the philosophy. When $200 is just not that much for me to just drop one month I will likely join because I very much honor LaVey and his trusted cohorts. But I realize that one need not be a member to practice Satanism. I work service industry and I have a rather wide variety of acquaintances and friends. I am strait and generally single though I have some girl friend/s whom I enjoy spending time with now and again. I am a rather subtle Satanist as I quest to move through the morass of mediocrity with 'grace and fury'. I don't go around preaching overt Satanism but I do everything that I can to get my point across as circumstance permits. I am thrilled at the prospect of meeting other Satanists.
