EntropicMomentum I certainly agree that it is stupid to flaunt affiliation with something that can cause you harm. My perspective is not to aim for acceptance, rather it is to anticipate consequences.

I also agree that Satanism as accepted by the masses would greatly dilute the whole point of it beyond anything meaningful.

The one thing I disagree about in this blog is the idea that humanity and society are somehow crooked, diseased, and unnatural. By what standard do you have to compare them to? The only thing you can compare them to are you own subjective ideals.

Everybody has their own ideal for how things should be, including that person who thinks Satanists shouldn’t be discriminated against. If you claim that things are crooked, diseased, and unnatural, then you fall into the same trap that protester falls into that you are railing against.

There’s nothing wrong with having ideals, but in my opinion it’s more important to live understanding the reality of consequences. That’s what I get out of the blog post, but I think it’s important to hold yourself to that standard as well.

A valid point though i went through a phase were i would wear my baphomet and flaunt just so i could piss stupid people off and then i got bored with that game like any other and took it off. I have more to say and ill ad it later when im not getting ready for work :P
