Occult Fetish- The root cause of "unfulfillment." from samowens84's blog

"It is bad enoughto hear of the 'great teachings' of Aleister Crowley-who hypocritically called himsel by the Christian devil's number, yet steadfastly denied any Satani connections, who wrote and had published millions of words of Kabbalisitic mulligatawny, the distilled wisdom of which could have been contained in a single volume of once-popular E. Haldeman Julius' 'Little Blue Books... Strange, how seldom one hears plaudits for Crowley's poetry, worthy of inclusion with the likes of James Thompson, Baudelaire, Clark Ashton Smith, and Robert E. Howard. If Crowley was a magician, it was the beauty of his creative art which made him so, not his drug-befuddled callings-up of Choronzon, et al. Unfortunately, his followers today have taken up his worst, while neglecting his best."--Anton Lavey: On Occultism from the Past

Whatever one thinks of Lavey, I argue there is a larger point being made. It seems to me that much of Modern Satanism appears to have come to a standstill. Some want to blame it on "society" being too accepting and taking away it's "edge."

Some may view it that way, but my anecdotal observation is that people are becoming more and more aware and are embracing real Satanic ideas. This is not reflective in the media, which would caraciture it into something nonthreatening. I am not personally unfulfilled because I enjoy doing my part to hasten the new satanic age on the micro level, which has given me forms of art and personal success that I found personally fulfilling.

It may be that people may require new occultic practices are necessary to break free of commercial appropriation. If isolated it will likely and from what I understand inhibit progress. I don't have that problem because I see it reflected fluidly in my personal world and space, and the edge and joy is still there apart from the commercialization. The question that may need to be asked however as some may need a renewal exercise is whether it is done exclusively for the rush of occultic experiences, or is it alsoc concurrently fueled by a consistent and passionate goal that can keep the engine running? Worldy drives and persuits with a clear vision of the world it is designed to effect is critical. If all you see is Mily Cyrus talking about what a good guy Satan is, then you are only engaged with the construct, and may be a primary problem with occultic success and progress.

666 was significant in both Hebraic and Persian mysticism millennia before Revelation was penned. Crowley's poetry is often studied by occultists and rarely read in universities or at poetry slams. Why does it bother you that occultist read and study poetry with occult imagery over the standard stuff? There are enough fans of Howard to keep his work alive that are not occult. As to Baudelaire, he gets the same kind of attention Crowley does just by a smaller crowd666 was significant in both Hebraic and Persian mysticism millennia before Revelation was penned. I mean by that standard they should shut down RHPS and any theater that shows old hammer films because better (at least by the critics standards) exist. Some of us enjoy Uncle Als drug befouled calli8ngs of Choronzon. Why don't you malign collectors of various old comic titles? Its not like Thelemites are knocking at your door with a copy of Liber Al. Some of us just like the occult. If you are not into it...totally cool. We don't blow up buildings or shoot people either. As far as Hanna Montana...well lets just say that I am going to fulfill my end of the deal and send her my nudes as she has been bugging me about that...a deals a deal.I mean by that standard they should shut down RHPS and any theater that shows old hammer films because better (at least by the critics standards) exist. It doesn't man. I'm into it. Read it again and you might grok the point I'm trying to make.

But appreciate the Baudelaire reference. Someone just suggested it to me after reading my prose poem 9/zero

Flowers of evil is what it was

My poem is the end result of some chaos magic I had been doing. So I respect Crowley's approach on that point

Sorry I was a bit salty concerning some open displays of hostility on this and other sites. I will look at the poem. Keep in mind though I do like Crowley he is not so much a father or guru but rather a creepy uncle who helps me get beer and porn but I would never pass out in his house, at least not without lube. (apologies to Terrance and Phillip) My car was in the shop and I must admit to having some rum while waiting for it to be fixed. Alternator and gasket...set me back a few.Sorry I was a bit salty concerning some open displays of hostility on this and other sites. I will look at the poem. That's why I included it. To trigger some occultists to attention. But if looked at deeper, someone might get something out of it.

I get it now. I try not to be afraid of admitting a mistake or inaccuracy though sometimes my Charlie Sheen style bloated ego can make that difficult.

I have that problem too. I usually get it when I have a blind spot. It's a good thing to feel uncomfortable. It's a step closer to a higher plane
