Volvo S60 T6

And then of course after that it was the 5.7 liter HEMI which was between 340 and 370; the pistons probably lost a bit of compression through age and hard use though so it's hard saying, and the tranny was getting a little sloppy on some of the upshifts. I wasn't too happy about driving into a ditch at the time, but in the grand scheme of things it appears as though it was for the better.
This car is more responsive than the HEMI. It's an altogether different driving experience really. It's a six speed and the HEMI had the NAG1 5 speed. In first gear this car literally jumps forward with enough g-force to give you whiplash if you're not careful; it will put you back in the seat from any gear really.
I need to drive it some more though now that all this bullshit with Christmas is out of the way. Took a friend for a ride yesterday and heard the all too familiar "Slow down!! Stop speeding!!" with minimal depressing of the pedal, so that made feel good. I say this car is like Superman disguised as Clark Kent, and that pisses her off.
I wouldn't trade it for another Charger. There was initially an issue with ergonomics that appears to be working itself out over a brief period - a slight discomfort in the back of my neck due maladjusted posture.
I'm dying to fix that little nic in the windshield though; at this point I'll settle for a clear day, low humidity, and temps at least above forty.
And then there is the periodic checking that lug nuts are secure, and with the lug nut covers I'm thinking I can just torque the covers without removing them which will in turn torque the nuts.
With the last Charger and the NAG1 five speed tranny third was the gear of choice for winding it on the back roads, but with this turbocharged straight six (that's all I know right now), and the six speed tranny it's fourth.
The thing about this "gear of choice" for backroad driving is that once you get the tachometer about halfway to the redline (65 MPH give or take) it really grunts when you hit the pedal for maximum acceleration and g-force on command.
Reiteration : Houston, this is one kick ass ride.
Focus Shift
Speaking of "old people". I was out for a drive a couple days ago and this fucker pulled right out in my path and I had to quickly jerk the wheel left to avoid; it was more of a non-voluntary reaction more than anything it seems with zero time to actually process anything.
There were a couple things in my favor pertaining to the above that prevented it from turning(no pun) into a really bad day. One: The road was evidently clear enough to provided suitable traction. Two: I wasn't distracted by gadgets et cetera or anything else as I often am for a second here and there, and to reiterate, yeah, one of my first thoughts was "That would've fucked up my whole day.".
I didn't freak out over it, just casually pulled up beside the driver after, chuckling(or something to the effect) to observe the culprit behind that averted shitstorm, and yeah, some old fucker. He wouldn't even look my way, eyes dead on the road in front of him - probably in some state of malformed hazy trance like reverie although lucid enough to grab the first I-onramp they came to.
It was literally minutes prior when I was tweaking the graphic equalizer, but luckily I knew the settings I wanted so it was a brief affair
I was able to pair the dashcam with the android and watch live dashcam footage on my phone, but no way to go live from there via dashcam. YouTube says my channel does not currently qualify to go live via mobile, but Facebook Live seems to work for the most part, so here's a link to that:
So, instead of the 5.7 liter Charger we're going to be working on this new 325 HP straight six turbocharged Volvo this time around. We did check all the fluid levels a while back and topped off where needed, and the other day we replaced the engine air filter and that was pretty easy.
Oil change is nearly two thousand miles overdue and I don't really trust anyone to work on my car these days so I'll be doing that myself shortly. Ramp it up and remove eight of those small star bolts/screws to get the dirt guard off to access the drain plug; guess I'll figure out how/where to dispose of the oil later.
Save the oil filter replacement for another day. We may need a bigger socket and a viable extension for that, and that should do it. Don't know if I'm doin' it today; just dwellin' on it and gettin' really close though.
Oil Change Day
It's my car so I'll probably replace some of the missing bolts, be careful with the torquing, and even grease it up a bit when I'm finishing, and I will have ALL parts back in place when done.
Using synthetic oil of course - 8 Qts 5W- 30 (It'l take seven or so)
Oil change day.
So the captain just figures he'll save his self a pretty penny and just unscrew and rescrew the fuckin' bulb his self, but stops to gas up on the way to the parts place and has the attendant hit the brake so he can see for his self and I'll be a motherfucker if that thing didn't actually light up.
Anyway, to make a long story short. The captain high tails it right back to those assholes and gets what he shoulda got the first fuckin' time he was there, and that's the end of that fuckin' story.
