I don't know the difference between the different kinds of metal. I just know that I like Behemoth, Dissection, Rotting Christ, Mgla, Gorgoroth, and Amon Amarth.

There are many subgenres of black metal. Mgla is good and i love all of those that you listed.

The only bands worthy of either genre in my castle are the old guards.
DM:
Possessed, Death, Morbid Angel, Autopsy, Entombed, Obituary
BM:
Hellhammer, Celtic Frost, Venom, Bathory, Mercyful Fate, Darkthrone.

A few of my favorite black metal bands, mixed with some death metal honorable mentions sprinkled in:

Goatwhore, Gorgoroth, Inquisition, Mayhem, Bathory, Darkthrone, Behemoth, Ilsa, Enslaved, Thron, Watain, Deicide, Leviathan, Necrot, Tomb Mold, Spectral Wound, Uada.
Cornelius Coburn
I tend to lean a bit more towards the melodic stuff but some of these can be quite chaotic as well:

Rotting Christ, Children Of Bodom, Dark Tranquility, Dark Lunacy, Cradle Of Filth, Ancient Rites, Slayer, Megadeth, Black Sabbath(Ozzy), Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Rob Zombie, Theatre Of Tragedy, God Forbid, System Of A Down, and Therion to name a few.

All of the band you listed are good, however Kisswitch im not an elitist  when it comes to metal though of course the old school stuff is very good. I love leviathan, baphomets, and i havent gotten into COB yet i need to though.

I don't really listen to a lot of Black Metal. I used to though when I was in my pre teens. One of the Black Metal bands that introduced me to Satanism and the occult was dimmu borgir. Nowadays, I mostly stick to listening to Thrash Metal or Death Metal, I do listen to some Deathcore but not really as much. The few Black Metal bands I might listen to would be dark funeral, and Aosoth. I find Aosoth an interesting band, in one of their album covers they have the ONA symbol.
