    Intuition, silence, and existential solitude
While it is certainly a matter of debate as to how intuition works if even such a thing exists, it is clear that some people are quite - even painfull...

Intuition is the identification of trends that exist like patterns in random number generation. There's really no causal reason, but for some reason 9 of 13 numbers to "hit" were 30-36.

My acquaintance's acquaintance suspected for quite a long time that her colleagues were talking shit behind her back. In order to confirm her intuitive feeling, she decided to place a bug in a potted flower to record them. The truth turned out to be worse than her worst imaginings. After making a fuss about it, she was forced to quit under the social pressure. What is funnier I'm talking about my place of work and I know that story from hearsay. Not sure how much truth is in that but one thing is certain. My colleagues like gossip. Many people do, especially women. They gossip about everyone, even their close friends. So making a fuss about it is being unable to accept the human nature for what it is. On the other hand, if you are in a manipulative relationship, it might be better to directly call the bullshitter out on their bullshit. It will end the manipulation and the relationship. It won't matter if they call you a paranoid fruit loop on their way out.My acquaintance's acquaintance suspected for quite a long time that her colleagues were talking shit behind her back. @DE yeah, it does come down to pattern recognition. I do agree with that assessment. Where we may diverge is that I'm not as optimistic regarding our ability to devise mathematical algorithms such as to account for such an idiosyncratic and nuanced thing as human behavior. It sure would be nice, though - and one can certainly dream.@DE yeah, it does come down to pattern recognition. I do agree with that assessment. @Anna exactly - it's the making fuss of it or even mentioning it at all is where people get all sorts of tripped up (by people, I mean, people who actually know me in real life and look to me as a generally pretty reliable source of guidance - as opposed to, well, "AK" - it's the same person, just two different facets). It makes me question broadly if these types we find on-line - who are dead-set on acquiring, honing, or convincing others of their possession of psychic abilities - would even know how to handle having them. 'Seems people struggle enough with what to do with something as vague and comparatively minor as intuition and mainly because of this attachment to consensus reality that, by nature, requires opening one's mouth. They'd be royally screwed if they could actually read minds and blabbed to everyone about it. First common-sense step is to not say anything about it at all - if for no other reason than the old "I wouldn't call you crazy for the things you think/do while alone; I'd only call you crazy for telling me about it" fall-back I tend to employ. Often being right means, being alone - and that's not a compromise many seem very comfortable with. They end up paying the price for it, too - and dearly. *last edit, I promise.@Anna exactly - it's the making fuss of it or even mentioning it at all is where people get all sorts of tripped up (by people, I mean, people who actually know me in real life and look to me as a gen...See more

I agree. Any time ive ignored my intuition I've kicked myself in the ass later. Ive learned to pay more attention to my gut feeling instead of wrting it off as being paranoid or over analyzing
