In the end everyone dies, everyone except me. I was bit by a vampiress and life hasn't been the same ever since. She was a 5,000 year old woman that looked like hot twenty something cover girl. She had long, wavy black hair, a limber body and smoke English, Hebrew, Russian, and German. She was equally as intelligent but she mostly has an interest in of Jewish, Germanic, and Russian vampire mythologies.
I was in love with her, their was no doubt about it, and we had gotten married some six months after we had meet and that is when she showed her fangs to me, but she punctured my neck before she had given me a chance to see them. Two of my teeth fell out a few days later and nearly two months later my fangs grew in. I had grown up loving the old black and white vampire movies and had read up on the material but I never thought that I would ever become a vampire myself until I meet Lilith.
"Good Morning my love," Lilith said, in her usual Jewish accent. "I cooked you breakfast. It's an old recipe but I think you'll like it."
Lilith had seemingly came out of nowhere, but she had planned on it the moment she set eyes on him gracing some local body building magazine. She knew that she had to have him and she knew that she could have him. Though she has a long and rich history, spanning nearly 5,000 years, few knew of her and those that do don't know the whole details of here entire history and her true history is shrouded in both mythology that spans all cultures and time periods, and also in metaphore of songs, poems, and theater dramas.
I have the classic good looks of a body builder. I had been on the cover of several underground trade magazines, but my stake to stardom was a storied raid where I had been at the wrong place at the wrong time. Ever since I had stared in a string of respectable successful B list movies and had somewhat of a following that had steadily growing over the last six months since I had known Lilith.
I was on set when he meet Lilith, home caught his eye as the bumped into each other as they were turning the same corner. What John didn't know was the fact she was using a small makeup mirror to know the right time to "bump" into him. I had just got himself into the mind of the character that he had been portraying. Lately, John had been portraying some doctor who was a bodybuilder in his spare time on a small time soap opera, not much but it was work he loved his job and he made a little more than he needed for his lifestyle and even has a nest egg.
"Excuse me," I said.
"It's okay," Lilith said with out missing a beat. "I don't pay enough to my surroundings to begin with."
"What's your name?"
"Lilith," she said. "Just Lilith."
"No last name, uhuh, like Cher."
"Yea, like Cher, and I don't believe you told me your name."
"John Samson," I told her.
She gasped and then said, "You were in the that movie 'Quest of the Pharaoh'." She gazed into my deep brown eyes and as she did so, the director called over to me and I excused himself.
I had just got himself into the mind of the character that he had been portraying. Lately, John had been portraying some doctor who was a bodybuilder in his spare time on a small time soap opera, not much but it was work he loved his job and he made a little more than he needed for his lifestyle and even has a nest egg. But on that day, that moment I felt a spark. I had loved the Jewish features of her face, her Jewish accent, the dark eyes, I had been infatuated with her.
It was nearing the end of the day and some of us had stayed after the days filming to drink a few beers. It was then I saw her again but only this time I recognised her as one of the girls in costume. I didn't see her very much before because she mostly did the costumes for the ladies but after that day she started working with the guys costumes.
She had stayed after filming that day to drink a little beer with us that evening. A few drinks in and I had invited her to the studio apartment that I rented in a nice area of Hollywood. I pulled out some wine and one thing to another and we got are rocks of together. And like I said before, six months later we were married. There wasn't to much particular to the first six months of our marriage, nor was there anything in the next six months.
I was after the birth of our first child that things started to get strange, I mean they say that vampires don't go out at night, unless your into that Twilite bull shit, but we do and in fact you wouldn't believe who's a vampire, Tom Cruise, Hillary Clinton, Bob Larson, I could go on all night and still wouldn't give you half the list. Most of the rich and famous our either vampires, werewolves, or practitioners of witchcraft. I thought that this stuff all just make belief but I swear that this story is true.
But the real fun didn't start until my baby boy was only two and half months old. We named him Alvin, I was big fan of the Chipmunkswhen I was growing up as well. Our son didn't have the markings of a vampire nor that of a werewolf. We thought he was a normal child, she said this happens from time to time with every passing generation, but even then she said it usually takes about a month, two max, before he would show any signs.
But when he teleported from his crib into his high chair, we knew then that this child would be a wizard. And it reminded her that some kids don't show their powers, usually found in the wizards or witches, until two and a half or three months, some as late as four or five, but little Alvin had been on schedule.
Up to that point, Lilith had given me the impression that she never had kids, she even lied out right about her age being twenty-five. I was only five years her senior and was looking for someone closer to my age, but like they say, the heart gets what the heart wants.
As the child grew into a toddler, about a year and a half, I confronted her about day care services and in a cloud of smoke came this murland looking guy, only he was about forty with a full head of salt and pepper hair. Apparently he was there because it had been time for young Alvin to begin the first lessons of wizardry. I was reluctant but his answers seemed good enough.
"You see," the guy said. "Every witch and wizard goes to daycare before being sent of to school for witches and wizards."
"Okay," I said. "Just like I did when I was about his age, but I don't think you gave us your name yet."
"Oh, where's my manners, my name is Albert Fitzgerald."
"Oh yea, that's right," Lilith said. "You use to be my nanny, I thought I had recognized you from somewhere."
"And how could I forget a face like yours," Albert said.
"I don't understand why a wizard would be the nanny of a vampire," I said.
"He was good friends with my parents for one thing," Lilith said. "And for another his knowledge of vampires is quite extensive, second only to witchcraft and wizardry." She spoke not only as a matter of fact but with a high level of affection. "By the way, Albert I hear that you have a great job over at the Dumbledore School of Witchcraft and Wizardry."
"Oh yes," Albert replied. "I'm the new headmaster of the daycare there. It's what I love to do."
"Well taking care of those kids is perfect and I'm glad that my old school decided to open up a wing for that. I thought I heard whispers of them building on to the school but we know how people like to gossip."
"And you know I had my eye on Alvin for awhile now. I didn't think you would go wrong with the new blood that you brought into the fold." Albert looked at me and said, "You'll make a great vampire and your son will make a great wizard."
At this point I didn't understand how two vampire parents could have a child that isn't anything but a vampire. But Lilith, like always, had read my thoughts when she said, "Sometimes this happens, usually a small batch of kids in each passing generation will be anything other than what the parents are, usually if the parents' aren't the same thing like you and I which makes Alvin even more special."
"More so if you consider that there are three this time around," Albert said. "A vampire to parents of werewolves and a werewolf to parents that are a witch and a wizard. The rest of the kids turned out like their parents in one way or another."
I became more and more proud of my child and felt like Lilith and I had became closer than we had ever become at that point in our lives. I thought that this school would be best and Lilith agreed with me. We put up the money and off to daycare he would go all day while the wife and I would go to our jobs. I continued my job on the soap opera, taking jobs in movies during the summer when filming for the show had stopped for the season and she continued doing what she loved, costumes for the show and for whatever movie I had been doing during the summer. But like any school and day care in the normal world, we'd say the moggle world, moggle being a reference to the average, non magical folk and their world, their would be no sessions during the summer months. We took Albert on as the nanny for Alvin.
Really, the only difference for our little Alvin, other than being in a more than an upper middle class to lower upper class family, is that he was learning some basic, simple magical skills that mostly centered around personal responsibility. But it became obvious from the very beginning that like Lilith and myself, both Albert and Alvin had a bent towards some juvenile delinquency. Lilith and I both that it was cute when Alvin would be put up to no good by Albert but it would get trying at times.
One example was when Albert got the idea to show Alvin how to make objects invisible and had decided to use one of the scripts for a movie that I was looking over and highly considering taking it, and Albert knowing full well that this movie would not only be greatly anticipated but that it would almost make my carrier. It took me three hours to figure out that it was invisible and sitting on the kitchen table and even then I found out that Lilith became part of the joke some forty-five minutes earlier and kept her mouth shut because she thought that it was funny.
Another example came a couple days later when Lilith couldn't find her personal makeup kit. Albert had taught Alvin how to levitate objects a few weeks prior and Alvin became very proficient at it. But Alvin had only been taught to practice on his own things and never on anyone else's until he had decided to move mommy's make up just before she had walked into the bathroom to put her makeup on.
Lilith never thought to look over to see that her makeup kit had just been levitated onto the towel case that sat directly across from the sink. She looked in the medicine cabinet and it wasn't there. She came back into the master bedroom and asked me about it. I said nothing and walked into the bathroom and their it was on top of the case of towels.
"That's it," Lilith said. "I have had enough of this." Vampires do have powers unto their own. Mainly our powers are more of the defensive and offensive kind. It was fortunate that she had given me lessons on how to defend myself as well as a few offensive skills but I had just started learning some of the more moderate level skills, junior high type of things by this point. Her and I went around and started putting in defensive spells on all of the things around the house that didn't belong to Alvin.
A few minutes later we were finished, these kinds of defensive spells is fairly elementary and wasn't hard to do nor are they difficult to brake but for a child at the age of two and a half, they're not going to break the spells, that doesn't come until they're in junior high and typically have the maturity not to bother other peoples belongings without permission but can be used if one's own belongings have been stolen.
