Hi and Ave Satanas! I'm 35, queer, and have a BA in English. I've been interested in Satanism many years, but never fully agreed with the CoS's views, although I admire the organization and its founder. I come from a small-town, and my family was nominally religious. I have a sister who's a pastor... Yeah, I know. :) Through the years I have explored many religious persuasions, and at various times I've been Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Unitarian, and Wiccan. None of those ever perfectly fit. Christianity in particular. So much hate and hypocrisy there. In the last few months I've embraced atheism as the most rational worldview, and accepted that gods and dogmas cause more harm than good. Reading the works of Sam Harris and Christopher Hitchens gave me the final push from theism. I've been following the activism of the Satanic Temple, and joined. It's tenets spoke to me.
I enjoy writing, various types of music, horror movies, reading, and my chihuahua and my ball python and sand boa. I just recently read The Satanic Narratives by Damien Ba'al, and The Happy Satanist by Lilith Starr--both excellent. Peace out!
