Probably. I'm not sure that I'd recommend just meeting "any" satanist. Granted, you're a grown-ass woman, and I'm not your dad, but still something worth bearing in mind - three things, actually - is

1) people have wildly different ideas of what a "satanist" is or believes. There is no consensus. It's the debate that never ends. You're definitely going to want to confirm that what they mean by "satanist" is what you mean by "satanist". As it goes, more often than not, you'll find that you're speaking entirely different languages.

2) The very words "satanist" and "satanism" attracts a fair number of people with serious mental health issues. Though I personally find this morbidly fascinating, I can see why other more sensible people may have a problem with this. Some are crazy in a fun/cool/creative sort of way. Some are just crazy in the poison your pets when you're not looking sort of way. Shit's real. :|

3) chances are none of the above really matters, the end game is to hook-up. This is not always a bad thing. Human nature is human nature.

Sure. What I meant was not that it "could" but rather that it "does". Stick around, poke and prod, you'll see it's a magnet for nut-jobs. Autism, bi-polar, schizophrenia, etc - it just draws people with these afflictions to it. It's an occupational hazard. Admittedly, I would say anyone - including myself - who is at all drawn to the word definitely has their "quirks". There's no getting around that. But some of these people are literally just toys in the attic type crazy. Like yourself, I find this fascinating. To poke and prod, but always at arms length. Experience has shown that even the seemingly sane ones often turn out to be off their rocker. I would advise keeping your guard up. As a moderator here I deal with the ugly aftermath of these sorts of relationships pretty frequently. It's not a fun job, but - to your point, as an amateur psychologist myself - I get to see a lot of interesting things that are only interesting because they don't effect me personally. Things that would be down right alarming if they did. Keep your guard up. Most of these cats is crazy. it's usually the ones who ONLY talk to your through PM. Long story short: you can't summon demons, it's all in your head, and people's whose heads are filled with notions to the contrary are either con-artists or just plain crazy. This covers about 80% of the pitfalls. The other 15% are even worse. 5% are basically normal people who just have strange world-views... eventually get a feel for who is who through trial and error. With luck, not too much by way of error. If it sounds crazy, probably is. Of course, if the idea of talking to people who truly believe they are aliens is somehow interesting to you - you'll find these types in no short supply. You can't so much as swing a stick without hitting someone who thinks they're either Lilith or has some sort of deep connection with her. There sure are a lot of those.Sure.
