I saw Satanism mentioned briefly in a book in my junior year, but didn't think anything of it. Later, after I'd graduated high school, I started to see more and more material about Satanism from the Internet, and I kept thinking about things I was taught back when I was Christian, and how I don't believe any of that anymore, so I decided to make the decision in my mind to say, "Hey, I'm a Satanist, even if no one else knows!" No one else around me knows, not even my atheist/secular family.
I've grown a little since converting. The rules and beliefs we hold make so much more sense than that of any man-made religion. The rules we follow every day as Satanists have helped me realize a lot of things about myself, most notably how to manage my anger (even though that still needs work.)
So, yeah. I'm here, queer (bi), Satanic, and here to stay!
