My name is John M. Penkal, and I currently hail from Smithfield, Pennsylvania.
I am a self-styled Satanist, a member of The Satanic Temple, and Editor-In-Chief at Truly Satanic Magazine. I am engaged and have a son named Damien Levi. In my spare time I write music, create art, write poetry & songs, edit articles, and perform other "normal" human activities.
As far as my beliefs are concerned, I am atheistic when it comes to anthropomorphic deities. I see them as mere archetypes and projections of the collective human subconscious. You could consider me somewhat of a pantheist/deist when it comes to natural forces in the cosmos. I like to consider myself a transtheist, as my beliefs seemingly transmute as necessary, depending on the outlook I require at any given time. Most would say I'm schizophrenic in that aspect, but if that is the case, I'm proud to be a lunatic.
I'm a bit of a nyctophile, and I adore dark aesthetics. Satanism is merely a garnishment to the worldview I've always held. It wavered when I was younger, but it has become more focused and less abstract over time.
Our project started on Facebook about a year ago, and as its history is rather questionable, it has evolved into a solid informative newsletter on the Left-Hand Path. My admit tag on Truly Satanic is "Rev. John".
People always ask me "Reverend? Of what?"
Well, like our dear pioneer Dr. Lavey, I received "the call" if I may.
