Hey all, I'm Matt
I've been aware of SIN for a few years now and I actually had an account on one of the previous incarnations of SIN but never really used it. I rejoined a few weeks ago and I've been lurking around and chatting to one or two of you via the messaging system. I'm basically here to interact with other Satanists.
I'm from the UK, in the North-East. A region where the 2011 UK Census revealed that Satanists outnumbered Scientologists approx 10:1. I identify as a "Modern Satanist" which is a non-commital way of saying I'm an athiest, who thinks of Satan quite a bit the same way as LaVey seemed to but I don't quite identify with all the LaVeyan stuff (mostly his sociopolitical views).
I'm an academic; I studied Computer Science as an undergrad (so if anyone needs any web or software development done gimme a shout), and I'm currently working on my PhD on how digital technologies can provide platforms for civic action in the UK. I'm quite left-wing, a feminist, and I like crafty things such as making jewellry and cosmetics.
I'm interested particularly in Satanism in the UK, as it seems at the moment to be dominated by US thinking.
