When pondering upon my life as a child, the wrongs and sadistic pains that I encountered, i felt worthless, unworthy of even being alive most of the time just to be abused by an alcoholic stepfather and ignored by a selfish mother; in the way, just a hindrance to their life. I learned fast to stay out of the way, to run about freely outside after school and at weekends from early Saturday Morning till late Sunday evening, no one ever really noticed I was not there. My friend became nature and imagination. By about the age of 10 I was put into care for a while; again worth nothing, just dumped with many other nothings who were also worthless in most adults eyes; yet I saw something different, I saw a want for survival against all odds, against all pains and sufferings, those Kids wanted to live and be allowed to live; they needed to worship themselves to survive! By 11 I was preforming rituals and had already concluded that the christian God was bull shit; where the fuck was that god when those kids in care's lives were so shit and parents were allowed to abuse those children physically and mentally? No, he could not exist, this was evidence against any God who was all loving and kind, this was a proof of him being evil if he did exist, and so logically there could be no such thing as good or evil, only survival and a need to survive... the rituals were basic, a small Altar, a head scarf over it, a candle and a clay statue that I had made at school of a head with snakes coming out of the mouth and eye socket,...not a normal child you could say, but a very imaginative one. During those rituals i would pray...to myself, telling myself to be strong, to get through each day, to only depend upon my own strength not that of others... This was not narcissistic, this was survival and a need to survive. if i had not done that i doubt I would be here today. So in my own words, based on my own life, being my own god, is needed for my own survival in this fucked up world! I worship the existence of my godly birth from life experiences and pains that molded and shaped me to be strong and worth more than what those same experiences were trying to take away from the child that grew into a God. to be able to be my own god means i have no shame, no pains and no reason to have guilt, or issues or worries about my past; out of the darkness there was light as the shadows showed me who I was. I was God, and I would not allow myself to be a victim.
Religion is crowd control - nothing more.
Satanism can be either or both, depending on the individual.
@Ol grimey ... I am going to attempt to uniquely confront the statement "you are your own god" without, I hope, the repetition of anything i have read, which frustrates you, so here goes.
