Portrait of a Lady from Anna's blog

This is me:

And this is also me:

As seen by my patients.

One of them, having an artistic soul, decided to draw my portrait.

My colleague was laughing, saying "Oh you look so like yourself here! It's so similar!" She stopped laughing when she saw her "portrait." She didn't keep it as a souvenir.

Both are great pictures of you, by the way. :) I really like the new selfie. It's always a pleasure to see your face after seeing a cat for so many years.

Thanks, dear. :) I got tired of the cat mask too.

I recall when I first ventured to the 600 Club. The Anna Czereda presence was ominous, and then there was this CM psycho, and it was like wtf, this place is cool.

Honestly though, I remember thinking that these are some very gifted and intelligent people here.

Thanks CC. I'm not ominous though. I'm like a small cuddly kitten. I can sit on your lap.

You should totally wear that as a homemade mask to work. Which I assume is some place where you mistreat dementia patients, or at least that's how those care homes work in the US.

But that's what this is, a demonstration of the opposite of this: https://youtu.be/fGnYxiF0GXk

Well, the thing to do everywhere but Asian culture is to treat the elderly like children. For them to come full circle in incontinent glory, and be deemed a burden before being shipped off to convalescent care as a matter of workload management. Then they can spend their half cognizant twilight being talked down to by an angry underpaid 22 year old orderly with almost 13 weeks of medical training.Well, the thing to do everywhere but Asian culture is to treat the elderly like children. @DE, Actually, that was in a nursing home for young people. They are physically fit but mentally challenged, to put it politely, so they can't function on their own. I also work in another nursing home and that one is for the elderly.

I'm not a qualified nurse, I help the patients with the daily activities, feeding, washing them, changing diapers etc, anything they need. Dunno how it's called in English, personal care assistant maybe or whatever. You don't need any medical training for that.

Abuse does happen but the situation is better than it used to be in the past, with most extreme cases being reported in the media. I'm not an expert on the Asian culture but I think there the whole family cares for the elderly. Here, the person who decides to look after the old sick parent is usually left alone without the help from the rest of the family. And providing such care on your own can be extremely difficult.

Close enough. It fits the acronym, but around here it's always been Personal Care Attendant, or, PCA.
