Once upon a time in the 1400's CE, someone wrote a book about black magic, which is contemporarily referred to as The Munich Manual of Demonic Magic.

The original text is in the possession of the Bavarian State Library in Munich, Germany.

Sections of the original manuscript have been translated into modern English by Richard Kieckhefer in his book Forbidden Rites.

A complete translation has never been done.

So... is anyone on SIN versed in medieval Latin who would be interested in translating this manuscript?...

Medieval grimoires fascinate me. The fact that, even under the threat of capital punishment, certain individuals throughout history were so strongly drawn to Darkness is very empowering.

Here is some info on the above mentioned text:

Relevant to my interests, this is.

I absolutely love old texts like this.

There's just something about older books that makes them 'feel' more real than anything LaVey wrote on the subject of magick. Can't quite put my finger on it - maybe, being older means it is closer to an 'original' source? Perhaps because it was written back when people still widely believed wholeheartedly in magick? Maybe it's just an aesthetic thing? Who knows, but in any event, this is way cool.

Also, I put Forbidden Rites up in the Library as well, because why not.

This like something that I too might be interested in. I, however, will read anything with occult stamped on it. I meanything from vodou and and wicca to crowley and LaVey to Grimorium Verum ... I could go on but I think my point got across. I am looking for what ever I can get my hands on the subject of the occult, even though I am a satanists. The key here is keeping an open mind because one maybe surprised what one may find in the most unlikely of places.
