It's the equivalent of a traditionalist Americana artist doing Norman Rockwell characters being subjugated to Chinese culture instead of being allowed to be white at a Malt Shoppe. Or the message behind my FAVORITE Rammstien song. (Song keeps finding applicability too)
It's blasphemy, but also a statement the Hindu could appreciate.
I am not sure it is even a heterodox impetus, even if it accomplishes some of that with this awesome art.
On that, you could make this Nepali exhibit look like Candyland by doing an "All paintings of The Prophet Mohammed" show at a community center in Dearborn, Michigan.
