Off the chain old people from Dantalion's blog

Just read another news report about yet another shooting in California, and the suspect is yet another senior citizen. I’ve also seen incidents of old people running people over and doing all kinds of crazy shit. None of this surprises me. We live in a country that uses people for all they have to benefit a few people at the top, and when you can no longer produce any more, you’re living a life of abject poverty. There’s scores and scores of people and organizations that specifically target seniors for scams and snake oil. We’re going to see more and more of these incidents until the people that built this country are taken care of properly.

That the state doesn't care for the citizens doesn't surprise me. It never did. It's much worse if your close family doesn't care about you once you get old. You look after your kids, wipe their butts but when you need help, your kids don't want to look after you. You become useless, a burden. So they take you to the nursing home and it's not so bad if they visit you, bring you all the necessary things and spend some time with you. But sadly, most people are just abandoned, at least here, like dogs in shelters. The children take your property, pay the fees for the nursing home but that's it. They don't come to visit you, they sometimes leave you with one shirt and one pair of trousers only, they don't give a fuck about you. Even those elders who live on their own and can take care of themselves suffer from loneliness. They have children, grand children but they "have their own lives." Lol. That was funny. My auntie has a friend who has a large family. They don't live together but they meet frequently, they help each other, they know each other very well and it's beautiful. Granted, some families are toxic, if not downright pathological, but it's always better to have some network of support, people you can rely on when you need them just like you're for them when they need you.Lol. Yeah I saw that too, he does put up some good videos. The social/societal toxicity does appear to be growing exponentially, within or without inner circles it doesn't seem to make a whole lot of difference; I'm seeing a lot of family members offing other members, and status quo on the public/mass shootings as usual.Yeah I saw that too, he does put up some good videos. @anna- It makes me sad hearing about all those people that don’t take care of their parents. A hundred years ago, people’s retirement plans were their kids. We didn’t even have social security. You would have kids to help on the farm, pass the farm to them and they would take care of you and it would continue for generations. Now we are a city culture where the kids move off to live in a condo to never be seen or heard from again.
