There is most certainly an artistic process that comes into play and each artists ritual is unique. But, too often than not, I get stuck in a rut of having a lack creative energy, motivation or inspiration.
This is extremely upsetting for me because this certain muse is one I take great joy and pride in doing. I relish the times I spend alone in my make-shift studio with my thoughts and just let everything else go. It's an outlet for me to say the least.
I have a big art show coming in October with at least 10 paintings and mixed media works started.
I've come to a screeching halt in production and I'm not sure why. I've tried various things to try and kick start the creative flow. For example: I've visited the art museum, gone out to places I've never been and talked with new people I've never met, smoked a bunch of weed, drank in excess, visited various art showings and talked with the artist, read different books, and literally have sat in the studio staring at what I need to work on for hours on end(usually while smoking and drinking).
It still won't come to me. It's really starting to mess with me.
So, if anyone has any good advice on how I could get back on the right track, It'd be much appreciated.
What works for you? What inspires you? This is a call to all artists.
Thanks in advance
