I don't vote for anything other than propositions, and occasionally to keep the Governor.

As of now I consider American politics a cavalcade of idiot Christians with their non-WASP scapegoats and isolation from the world vs. oversensitive faux-progressive sheep trying to look as humanist and globally concerned as possible.  Simply put it's an annoying fuckfest of people that want back John Mellancamp's Pink Houses and duck and cover vs. those with an admiration (fetish?) for those highly irreligious secular European countries with a value added tax.

But what is really important?

When it comes down to it there is a reason 9/10 ecomists vote Democrat. But the fiscal policy has been on the moderate since the first Bush raised taxes after the 80's taught everyone a lesson about trickle-down economics, cocaine fueled greed, and the perils of a bubble economy. All presidents have followed their moderate economic advisors (even Trump) and the differences between the parties has become superficial bitching and ingrained ideological hatred of moral hairs up their respective asses.

And people thought 2020 was bad. 2024 is going to be a shit show.  You will have two copies of each-other (Trump and Desantis) vying for the GOP nomination and possibly Harris receiving the nomination over Biden. And of course more associations turning to waste over difference in political opinion. And like the democrats did, the republicans will have 3 more years to dissect Joe's every 'demented' move.

Meanwhile the outsourced global economy, the Real President of the World, will continue in its consistent fiscally moderate trajectory with the parties differences ultimately having a minimal impact of less than 3%.

Just my thoughts on that.

Being an American living in the U.S., I can speak considerable volumes of this "shit show" and how ridiculous our (I use 'our' loosely) political system is. To keep it short and to the point, my go-to explanation is the following:

-

"The only difference between the Chinese people and the American people is that the Chinese know their news media is propaganda and political system is rigged. The American people have yet to figure that out."

-

As such, Americans (the vast majority who are subpar in the intelligence department) are allowing themselves to be manipulated and emotions played with and thus act according to the government's manipulation. It's a smoke screen. They are playing straight out of Robert Greene's The 48 Laws of Power.

After having a few run-ins with the law recently, nothing major; conversations with a friend here. I made the comment that the state is just another form of organized crime, but it's not that organized, really, but can be very dominant.

Humans have a tendency to be corrupt by nature which is concealed for the most part via the Freudian superego, and some of the 'agents' of the systems are total fucking thugs which is just a mere reflection of corruption on a larger scale.

It works better than Napoleonic/Third Reich dictatorships.

Point of fact, anarchy is beyond the processing limits of humans.  They need to be controlled in some way. In modern society this is proportional to population density.  The more compact they are; the more law and order is needed to keep it prosperous. And when authority lacks integrity you have corruption. And "private" elements taking up control responsibility. (See everything Mexico and South)

One noteable exception/example being the Walled City of Kowloon, which was razed in the 90's after years of Triad control and unregulated living. But there were still Triads to collect rent.

Society of millions are all unnatural. Something that evolved with the ideas of civilization. How to best control a society with respect to longevity? Democracy is how you can have a controlled society that thinks it has a choice. I can say, "Biden is a spineless back peddling consensus appeasing progressive that has not the intestinal fortitude to lead a crises ridden nation".

And therein is the divergence in type of control between The USA and China. In the USA they want me to say that because it's an "inalienable right" that plays into the grand illusion of freedom and democracy. In China they will likely come after you because they want you to know there is one party, The Peoples Party, and China is going to do what China wants to do. And you will do for China.

If we are picking our slavery, and since I don't want to move off the grid, I will take the one with the most fanciful illusions of freedom present.

And there are a lot of applicable countries. Mainly the ones that copied The American constitution. But it's still an evolution of societal control.

And unfortunately, one that is a fanciful unrealistic pipe dream to do without.

Nobody is really in need of control. But someone has to decide, or else they wander like headless chicken. It's not like we feel or act like slaves, or by any means any of us like slavery, yet slavers exist. Generally, it's not that we do not like the "right" , but the "wrong" exists.

In a way what one is supposed to do, or think, is a value that can be understood. But, one has the right to choose, which makes it more messy.

Unless the U.S. is going to decide to stay out for good or completely nuke the middle east off the face of this planet, there will always be severe problems to deal with. The Afghan forces, I.A., I.P., etc. are all a sad joke. They aren't raised to value the virtues of their own freedom and fighting. They will never defend themselves and will always rely on the strength of others to come to their aid.

I'm just trying to figure out what the death-toll will be of American troops once we go back again... You know we are going back, its only a matter of time.

People forget easily. Except if you live there. What really happened to Afghanistan? Are you happy now? Who is happy now?

Yeah I forgot about this thread. I haven't been following the news from Afghanistan lately. But Google is your friend. So... economic crisis following American sanctions, deep poverty, denying women education and the opportunity to work, squashing peaceful protests, persecuting social activists and anything else I might miss but you might expect from Talibans. People are predictable. To a certain degree, that is. So many years of teaching pigs to sing wasted.

Quote from Baphomets

Brother in law was a marine medic during Operation Iraqi Freedom. They are required to pick up all dead and wounded, whether it is our own or not. He swears that even their blood has a different smell.

Plus, they don't use toilet paper.

They use their hand.

All the liberal whining, and your family were involved with murdering millions of civilians in the Middle East for oil? Stupid American cunt. Take your roast beef out of here.

Quote from Anna After the American troops left the country, Talibans seized power almost immediately and without any resistance. Some criticize Biden's decision to speed up the withdrawal of the US army calling it a failure and comparing it to the defeat in Vietnam. These were Biden's words:

"American troops cannot and should not be fighting in a war and dying in a war that Afghan forces are not willing to fight for themselves,"

What are your thoughts? Is this a shameful defeat or merely putting the end to the unwanted and costly war? And what do you think the aftermath will be? Chaos and violence? Another totalitarian regime? A refugee crisis? The rise of terrorist attacks? Anything else?

It's another massive defeat for the USA, just like Vietnam. It's a great victory for the underdog and irrationality.
