The issue is as I thought I explained it they are not even in the ballIf you want to carry the label Satanist then you need to have a general philosophical disposition with those people that established that label which is LaVey.
The problem is that LaVey did not invented the label and Satanism would never have a sacred book because it would be oxymoron.
Satanists are born and not made, so it's more what they naturally do that defines them. If you are a Satanist you would naturally worship Satan alone or in a group if you can, and here it does not matter whatever you believe him to be real or not. LaVey came with an rational explanation of religious experiences in general. When he said that Satan was an archetype it was based on his rational view that all gods were psychological projections of the human ego. This was also his argument for creating the satanic rituals in the way he did. Religious rituals are created to decompress the intellect and it can be traced back to ancient shamanism. For what I know LaVey even knew the founder of modern shamanism Michael Harner.
When the intellect is decompressed then the group will experience the gods as external entities because of the psychological projection in the emotional state of mind. That's how Satanists worships Satan. Such things will TST people never do. They would find it pointless and ridicules but it's because they are not Satanists.

LaVey probably knew the fact that the human animal cooperates in tribes to survive and triumph, and all religions are based on maintaining the tribe. LaVey based the satanic religion simply on man's animalistic nature. Satanism is a religion because without the satanic religion Satanists could not maintain their tribe.
